In the main event, undefeated BKB Heavyweight World Champion Gustavo “The Cuban Assassin” Trujillo (8-0, 8 KOs) puts his perfect record of first-round knockouts on the line against Mark O’Neil. The towering 6’5” English heavyweight and fan-favorite slugger brings dangerous power, relentless pressure, and a warrior’s mentality into the Trigon. “The Veteran” is determined to be the first man to survive Trujillo’s opening-round onslaught and prove that age is no limit in bare knuckle boxing.
Trujillo, a 32-year-old Miami native originally from Cuba, enters the event riding unprecedented momentum. In his most recent outing at BKB 48: Night of Four Kings, he defended his BKB Heavyweight World Title with a devastating 63-second first-round knockout of former WBA Regular Heavyweight Champion Lucas “Big Daddy” Browne. The victory extended Trujillo’s streak to eight consecutive first-round finishes, including notable stoppages of Lorenzo Hunt, Ike Villanueva, and Richie Leak.
In the co-main event, Olympic gold medalist and former two-division world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa makes his highly anticipated bare knuckle debut against crafty veteran Yesner “Cuajadita” Talavera. The 31-year-old Nicaraguan southpaw-style fighter is a battle-tested, well-traveled tough opponent with professional experience across three continents. His technical skill, mobility, and durability promise to provide a stern first test for Gamboa inside the BKB bare knuckle trigon.
“El Ciclon de Guantanamo” brings elite boxing pedigree and global star power to BKB. The 2004 Olympic flyweight gold medalist for Cuba turned professional in 2007 and compiled a stellar 30-5 (18 KOs) record. Gamboa captured the WBA featherweight world title (2009-2011) and unified it with the IBF featherweight crown (2010-2011), becoming the first Cuban fighter in history to win an IBF world championship. He also held WBA interim titles at super featherweight and lightweight while challenging pound-for-pound greats including Terence Crawford, Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis, and Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz.
Terence Crawford has repeatedly called Gamboa one of the toughest opponents of his career, stating that Gamboa landed “the hardest punch” he ever took and describing their fight as one of the most difficult in his legendary run.
